Bridging Tech is a charity that works to bridge the digital divide and empower K-12 students affected by homelessness here in the US. Techbuyer believes in doing as much as possible to help our local and wider community, and after discovering Bridging Tech and the great work they’re doing, we knew we would be well positioned to help!
With the help of our End User Sales Executive, Adam Paton, we recently donated 50 laptops and desktop computers to Bridging Tech.
Based in San Mateo California, Bridging Tech was built on the important mission of providing laptops for learning to students in need during times of physical and emotional displacement.
This initiative works towards supporting the development of digital skills and promoting a circular economy, both areas in which Techbuyer is extremely passionate. As a global organization, we aim to make a positive impact wherever we can.
We think it’s vital that education, sport, social activity and healthcare continue to thrive – so we dedicate as much time and resource as we can to assisting worthwhile clubs, charities and good causes. We also signed up to support the UN Global Goals in 2019, because we believe it is beneficial to our staff, customers, and value chain.
The 17 Global Goals were created as part of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As the Goals aim to solve extreme poverty, inequality, and climate change, they have grown to become the world’s most influential framework for promoting sustainability.
Even though the UN Global Goals only cover a tiny portion of our comprehensive sustainability activities, they are a useful program that enables us to align ourselves with other international companies and movements.
We chose three of these goals and assigned each one three targets to complete by the beginning of the 2025 fiscal year; they correspond to three areas of focus: activating the circular economy through our core business, advocating for a sustainable future, and giving time and resources where we can make a difference.
Therefore, the donation of laptops and desktop computers as a valuable resource to Bridging Tech not only advances our progress towards the UN Global Goals, but it also speaks to our core business values, which you can read more about here.
Bridging Tech is making a huge difference by reaching the most in-need areas in the US, and here at Techbuyer we’re delighted to be able to play our part in helping children, wherever they may be, get connected to the digital world.
