Saul P. Steinberg, Founder of Leasco Data Processing Corporation one of the pioneers of the third party leasing business has died at 73. Steinberg was a leading figure of the deal-making era of the late 70s/ early 80s, when the Leasco stock price soared, first buying Reliance Insurance and later making well-publicized, but unsuccessful, takeover runs at Chemical Bank and Disney.
Leasco was a member of the Computer Dealers Association which merged with the Computer Lessors Association to form the CDLA. The CDLA merged with the ASCDI in 2000.
