REDWOOD CITY, California, December 4, 2013 – Leading on from its extraordinary success in the consumer security market, AVAST Software, maker of the most trusted and recommended antivirus in the world, is increasing its market focus on small and medium businesses (SMBs).
In line with this strategy, the company has appointed Thierry Benchetrit as Manager of Channel Sales in North America. His assignment is to grow the B2B business in the U.S. and Canada through building the local reseller network.
AVAST protects more than 200 million PCs, Macs and Android devices. AVAST’s solutions for businesses embrace easy-to-install, centrally manageable endpoint protection for businesses with 1 to 200 seats as well as endpoint protection for corporate networks and servers with comprehensive central-management options for businesses with 5 to 1,000 devices.
AVAST’s Senior Director Worldwide Channels & Corporate Products, Peter Baxter, said AVAST has historically relied on partner networks to foster SMB growth.
“Our partner network has grown largely organically – to respond to unprecedented demand from the North American channel we appointed Thierry to ensure continued levels of value and support to our partner channel in the U.S. and Canada,” Peter Baxter said.
Thierry, who is LA-based, has more than 20 years experience in software sales, including the last 10 years in software security. His focus will be on the U.S. and English-speaking markets.
Thierry has led channel and business development in North America with companies such as AVIRA, Panda Software and ESET and has worked with IBM, SAP and Pitney Bowes. While at ESET, Gartner recognized Thierry as having the best overall Channel Program of 2008.
“Our focus is to secure and support small to medium businesses,” Peter said. “We have a great partner program for AVAST resellers, providing sales leads, project support as well technical support and training. Our aim is simple; provide best-in-class products with a best-in-class engagement model. We want to keep it simple, effective and fun.”
