Applied Global Technologies Inks Agreement with Compunetix and Enables Partner to Deliver Advanced Mobile Video Conferencing
Compunetix to Add AGT’s ENCORE Unified Communications Video Platform to its EVERGREEN™ Family of Multipoint Control Units
Atlanta, GA, March 15, 2012 – Applied Global Technologies (AGT), the leading managed services and Unified Communications technology provider for interactive and mobile video conferencing solutions, today announces a partnership with Compunetix, a leading manufacturer of multipoint collaboration equipment. Through this partnership, Compunetix will offer its EVERGREEN™ Family of Multipoint Control Units (MCUs) in conjunction with AGT’s mobile video conferencing technology, which provides interoperability with smartphones, tablets, laptops and high definition video conferencing systems.
“On the heels of announcing AGT’s global Partner Program, we are thrilled to work with well-respected Compunetix,” states Bob Wood, Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at AGT. “Not only does our partner agreement complement Compunetix’s current lineup of leading, flexible MCUs with mobility, it supports our predictions that mobile video conferencing capabilities are necessary to generate more revenue and achieve market leadership in today’s mobile world.”
Compunetix’s EVERGREEN™ family products are designed to meet the diverse needs of the video conferencing industry through advanced digital signal processing technology, a richly interconnected, high bandwidth internal switch fabric and a unique set of link ports. The family includes the Cedar™ at 3U, the Cypress™ at 5U and the Sequoia™ at 13U. By implementing AGT’s ENCORE UC video platform, Compunetix extends its capabilities by including ENCORE’s Mobile Pathway Protocol, which leverages already open and secure standard web ports to enable video communication between HD video conferencing systems, smartphones, tablets and laptops. This provides true video mobility for any mobile device regardless of whether or not it’s tethered to an enterprise network.
“Compunetix is excited at the additional opportunities this partnership will open for the company by adding AGT’s mobile technology to our extremely scalable MCU architecture,” explains Jim Klueber, Video Systems Division Manager at Compunetix. “Not only will this be of high interest to our Enterprise customers, but also for our service provider customers that want to offer unlimited cloud video services to the undeniably exploding mobile market. We see this combination being a one-two knock-out punch.”
As an added bonus, AGT will provide Compunetix a branded app that will be available via the Mac App store. The custom app, which can be branded for end users as well, enables smartphone and tablet users to interact and share content in meetings.
AGT’s formalized partner program is multi-tiered to accommodate a diverse range of partners and addresses levels and commitments for product/technical support, training, lead generation, marketing support and discount structures.
